AI Overview

Google's generative answer feature that synthesizes responses from multiple sources and cites them.

AI Overview (formerly Google Search Generative Experience or SGE) is Google's feature that synthesizes an AI-generated answer at the top of some search results. Instead of presenting a list of blue links, Google's LLM reads the top search results, synthesizes them into a coherent answer, and displays it prominently with citations. It then shows the source pages below.

What it is

AI Overviews surface content from multiple web pages, distill it, and present it inline with search results. The feature uses an LLM to summarize and synthesize; it also cites which sources the answer came from. This changes how SEO matters — being quoted in an AI Overview is now a major traffic driver alongside ranking in the traditional organic results.

Why SEO cares

Pages with quoteable, atomic claims tend to get cited in AI Overviews more often. Clear definitions, H2 questions with direct answers, and well-structured content increase your chances of being synthesized and cited. Sites with vague prose get overlooked in favor of precise, structured content.

LLMind content strategy

LLMind's /learn/, /glossary/, and /compare/ pages are structured for AI Overview citation — each page has clear H2 questions, concise definitions, atomic claims, and citations. This design helps Google's LLM understand and cite the content, increasing visibility and credibility.
